I am Jim troth, a Certified Home Inspector and owner of my own inspection business. I used to train in martial arts and I did well in competition, 1st place in two national tournaments for Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. I enjoyed the competition and I learned that it takes more than just consistency to succeed. It takes consistently correct training and practice. The same goes for marketing success. For the first four months of 2007 my inspections were up 191% from the same time period the previous year. I get great response and comments from agents and office managers frequently.

First few months of 2008 (during the bottom of the real estate market) I have a 40% increase when compared to the same time period a year ago. The growth keeps coming.

I am invited to give office presentations because of some of the marketing I have done. Even to offices I have never visited! Many inspectors have to ask and hope to get to do a presentation, I am being sought out and asked to do them.

My marketing is working without a doubt. Having a 191% increase despite the market being down is a great confidence builder. For the entire year of 2008 I experienced growth of 39% which is fantastic because this was during a downturn in the market which saw sales in my area down as much as 50%! I still increased my business. My increase of market share has to be through the roof!

This first quarter of 2009 I have increased my number of inspections by 28%.  I accomplished this despite the board of realtors stating that sales of existing homes is down 18% for that same time period from the year before.  I am definitly growing and gaining market share.

The trend continues my home inspection numbers are up 33% year to date as of 10/31/09
